Amyris is a world leader in biotech innovation, pioneering in the creation of living organisms that can transform substances into useful or cleaner products. In recent years, many of their signature initiatives directly link to the production of biofuels, and therefore they carry a large energy portfolio. Beginning in 2016, Amyris enlisted the help of our founders, Mark Scholl and Dawn Riley, to identify emerging opportunities across the agriculture industry in hopes of diversifying the marketability of their products, such as their engineered yeast strains. CAS helped Amyris’ executive team to understand the size and growth of various market opportunities in ag and directly connected them to three target companies with existing and growing needs for such products who also had a presence in global growth areas of interest to their portfolio.
